MITCHELL DRILLING INTERNATIONAL MAY WELL HAVE STARTED AS A SMALL FAMILY-RUN OPERATION, BUT THE COMPANY AND ITS RELATED SUBSIDIARIES HAVE EXPANDED TO OWN AND OPERATE MORE THAN 120 DRILL RIGS IN AUSTRALIA AND AFRICA.

In addition, they have coordinated and completed successful projects as far afield as Russia, China, India, and the USA. This means people from many diverse cultures and backgrounds need to collaborate under a single corporate banner to find common ground and establish a shared outlook on safety and environmental matters.

Together, team members must work to find ways to efficiently deliver and share their knowledge, expertise and dedication across each and every project and procedure. This synergy will not transpire over a day or week or month, but is rather a constant work-in-progress, with the workforce coming together to work as one.

This is one of the Mitchell ‘family’s’ primary objectives every day: forging a focused and efficient team with one goal in mind – imagining, creating and executing superior client solutions. And during every working moment, we re-affirm our commitment to the many and varied aspects which make this a reality… these are some of the key points:

INTEGRITY

Foster a culture of accountability, respect and teamwork.

PASSION

Understand your role. Embrace your role. Execute your role.

QUALITY

Ensure efficient service through effective strategy and systems.

COMMUNICATION

This is the key to fostering successful client relationships.

EXCELLENCE

Continuously work with clients in search of a better way.

SAFETY

Finish each day without harm.

A baseline risk assessment is applied across all areas of operations, including drilling- and non-drilling activities, rig- and equipment maintenance operations, purchasing, and the introduction of new plant or equipment, hazardous substances, non-routine or changing work processes, and finally to all site and environmental hazards.

This safety-driven culture at Mitchell Drilling International ensure that our workplaces remain sustainable across various projects, with senior management committed to leading from the front. “We recognise the influence of people and believe that our employees define the company’s success”.

This continuous risk assessment means we adopt a culture of conducting daily job safety analysis to identify hazards associated with a particular task, and through this address any potential risk to people’s safety and health, and also to the environment and equipment. We strive for quality production and service delivery, and this go hand in hand with looking after our people and the environment.
